Here are a few tips for dealing with the double-whammy of a period and UTI:
1. Drink plenty of fluids. This will help flush out your system and hopefully clear up the UTI somewhat.
2. Consider taking a pain reliever. This can help with both the cramps and the discomfort from the UTI.
3. Use a heating pad. This can help with the cramps, and also provide some relief from the UTI symptoms.
4. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. tighter clothing can aggravate the UTI.
5. Try to avoid sexual activity. This can irritate the already inflamed tissues and make the UTI worse.
6. Sit down while peeing to completely empty your bladder and prevent bacteria growth in your urine.
Hopefully these tips can help make the period/UTI combo a little more bearable. If the symptoms are really severe or don't seem to be improving, though, it's always best to see a doctor.
